A new letterbox near Cannon Beach, Oregon.
Planted 2/4/02
Amanda from Seattle
Go to the Ecola State Park in Cannon Beach. A day-use fee is charged.
Take Hwy 101 to the north exit for Cannon Beach and follow the signs.
Park at the lot for the Ecola Point Picnic Area.
As you enter the parking lot, look for a trail sign on the right.
Take this trail to the first viewpoint. Stop and check out the view
of the Tillamook Rock Lighthouse. The lighthouse is no longer
operating. The island was bought by funereal entrepreneurs who bring
urns of cremated remains in by helicopter. What a stormy final
resting place!!

Wow, You could not have picked a more beautiful place for a letterbox. While I may live in Nebraska, I am very familiar with Cannon Beach. My Wife and I Honeymooned there one October many years ago, and have been back often. I know the exact spot that you placed the box. I can almost picture it in my head! Boy do I miss Cannon Beach. I will be sure to find your box on our next trip.
Happy Boxing,

Danged, we were pretty close to there this weekend, but
didn't know about the box until today.
What a day at the coast it was on Sunday, huh?
